Supplying the hair root
When we comb our hair, we lose between 60 and 100 hairs a day, which is completely natural. Anything more than that is already increased hair loss. The causes of increased hair loss can be many and varied. Our first goal is to find out why hair roots are undersupplied in order to find an individually tailored treatment for you.

Head
Many people are affected by hereditary hair loss. 40% of men and 20% of women suffer from “receding hairlines”, very fine hair texture or semi-bald hair. In most cases, these rarely respond to conventional therapies such as creams or lotions. Drug treatments are also associated with not inconsiderable side effects. This is where hair transplantation using the FUE technique offers a sustainable solution.
Hair loss only occurs in the upper part of the head, in the “tonsure area”. Here, in contrast to the hair crown area, the hair root cells react very sensitively to metabolites of a hormone. As a result, the hair falls out and the hair root cells die in the tonsure area.
Hair root cells in the hair follicle area, on the other hand, are insensitive to these hormones and usually remain intact for life.
With hair transplantation using the FUE method (FollicularUnitExtraction), groups of hair roots are detached individually, one by one, using a hollow needle (approx. 0.65 mm to 1.0 mm in diameter) in the area of the hairline and then extracted. There is no significant bleeding as no scalpel is used.

Hair loss in women
The menopause, pregnancies and taking the contraceptive pill can have a negative effect on full hair. Hormonally induced hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) weakens self-confidence enormously. When thinning patches appear on the head, women are under particular pressure. A high hairline is also often disturbing as it creates a high forehead.

How does hair transplantation work?
Hair transplantation is performed using the so-called FUE technique. Using a micromotor, the areas of skin with intact hair roots are removed individually and extracted using special tweezers. In balding areas such as the receding hairline or tonsure, channels are created using a sapphire pen and the hair roots removed are inserted individually. The whole procedure takes place under local anesthesia and usually takes 6-8 hours, depending on the number of grafts.

Head
Hair transplantation
During a hair transplant, hair roots (grafts) are removed from the donor area, i.e. the lower part of the head, and replanted in the tonsure area. After a successful transplant, these are retained for life and form new hair.
In contrast to the older FUT method, which we no longer use, we use the FUE technique. Here, up to 5,000 grafts are harvested directly from the hairline area under local anesthesia – without an incision and therefore without permanent scars.
Furthermore, due to the minimally invasive procedure, no relevant complications are to be expected if the care and behavioral instructions are observed.
The transplanted hair initially falls out during the treatment due to an oxygen shock. This is completely normal and not a cause for concern. After three months, the transplanted grafts begin to form new hairs, and an aesthetically pleasing result can be expected from the sixth month. The final result can be assessed after approx. 12 months.
